Lets talk... real Christmas Trees
Hi All,
Since we have got our own house now and despite having 2 kittens that might destroy it.. we want a real Christmas Tree this year! The question is, how long do they last? If we get one at the start of December will it last all month? Any hints and tips? I always start to get pretty psyched in July, it's on over load this year! |

We get a real one, I’m a Christmas nut but usually wait until last weekend in Nov to buy one...lasts well into the new year, though we take the decorations off by 6th and put it out into garden. I’m always sad to see it go! We get a Nordmann fir I think. Spend at least an hour searching for the perfect one!

Yeah, that's what I've spent my day on! Can't wait to get a new one, the whole thought of driving out to the farm to pick it and tie it to the roof my car is very exciting

I know there’s a dibber who has a Christmas tree farm...maybe he will be along to help... I’m no help as we have a prelit artificial tree. 🎄

I always get mine the last weekend in November and it lasts well into the new year. I think the key is (apart from getting a decent quality tree!) not having it anywhere too warm. I have mine on the opposite side of the room to the radiator and i'm sure that's what keeps it fresh for so long! I may be wrong on this, i'm not green fingered in any way but it works for me

If you buy one with its root in a pot and water it regularly it will last weeks. Then if you want to you can plant it in your garden and put lights on it next year.

We get a real one . Think it’s a nordman fir
We get if end November / early December We leave it in the conservatory so it never gets warm We keep it up way longer than anyone else I know - can’t remember now the exact date but well into March It sits in a holder that keeps water
