Just showing Dh this and he said that I had forgotten the best bit of the flight out - he got a birthday card from all the crew and also 2 glasses of fizz. However as this was 30 mins before we landed the cynic in us both said they just needed to finish off a bottle from business Unfortunately we both could only have a mouthful as we were collecting a hire car straight after landing but it is the thought that counts!

Looking forward to reading all about your travels again, I’m really missing the Rockies and sure we’ll be planning a return trip, such a great place.

Loving your first day! Must have another coffee so we can swap tales. We've decided on including Vancouver next year

Funnily enough part of our reason for going to Seattle was to get a feel for whether to use it as a start or end point for a coastal trip.
I like Vancouver so could always spend time in that area, and the views from the train to Seattle were great, but DH got a bit bored on the train. I think if we go back to Vancouver we’d just explore eg Victoria.

We flew to Vancouver then onto Calgary and drove back to Vancouver over the Rockies via Kananaskis, Banff, Jasper, Sun Peaks, Harrison Hot Srpings, Victoria and Vancouver, we drove over the Ice Fields Parkway en route and I can only say it was amazing, seeing bears etc in the wild was just so lovely, and I would recommend a visit to Lake Louise and if you are into hiking then take the hike from there to St Agnes tea house 7500ft up, that was just awesome (but maybe I am biased as that is where my Husband proposed to me) love Canada and could happily live there x

Great to see you’ve started Julia.
Seems like a very good travel day. Know what you mean about PE seats with BA though - there’s definitely very little padding and you get a numb bum after a while.

Another who could quite happily move over there although dh thinks the cold and dark in the winter would not suit me!
How romantic, I bet you were breathless and not just from the proposal We hiked to Lake Agnes last year and had breakfast up there, really enjoyed it. We got to within a km of the 6 plains tea house too but gave up, maybe next time! Lake Agnes hadn't opened when we were there in May
