White Matter Diagnosis - any dr’s can explain what it could be

I’ve had to have an mri due to my brother dying with a ruptured brain aneurysm, luckily I don’t have any but I’m having to go back for a 2nd scan as they have found white matter.
I’m only 46 and terribly worried as I’ve read it could’ve ms or dementia (I’m having problems with my memory)
Can anyone explain more about this condition

White matter is basically the nerve tracts or myelinated axons. So basically like the electrics of your brain, eg the wires. The grey matter contains neurons or the nerve cells. You need white matter in order to pass messages across. MS is caused by the myelin (the substance the insulates the nerve tract or wire) becomes destroyed. So it's more of a problem if there is a loss in white matter if you understand what I mean.
