I love the Thomas bagels. The things you do to keep your audience happy! Yes I too have a few teen pictures, but at least you still got a photo.

Day 2 Continued

Urban Pantry, Aventura Hotel, Universal

After an evening at Universal DH and DD were hungry. I thought we ate late at night but looking at the receipts now it was 8.30pm, funny how you feel when you are still on UK time at the beginning of your hols.

Urban pantry is the resort food court. You order and pay at various stations and the food is either given to you there and then or cooked to order and brought over (you get given a buzzer).

There is sushi, noodle dishes made to order, burgers, roast dinner and sides, pizza, icecream.

DD had a cheese pizza which was $15. DH had a 16 oz Moretti beer $8 and a Canyon burger with fries $14 .The pizza came quickly. There was obviously a mix up on Dh's burger as it took ages to come (I had to chase it up) and then came with the sauce on when he had ordered it on the side. I also asked for a couple of water cups (free), the soda machines dispense water. I wasn't very hungry after a late lunch at Culver's, think I had a bit of DD's pizza.

Neither meal came on a plate, made me think of wewantplates/

The food was nice enough but is pricey. We used some of the $100 free food and drink credit to pay for this meal. Basically you charged it to the room and at then end when we checked out they knocked off $100.

I showed my AP to save 10%. DH ordered his burger and wouldn't have thought to.

They do offer the resort refill mugs for soda and coffee, think they were $18 for length of stay. We didn't get them.

Total $36.96 (saved with AP $2.30) - but free due to $100 credit for early booking of hotel

Day 2 Spends

Denny's $22.37 plus tip
Comic Strip Cafe $13.69
Culver's $24.30
Target - approx $20 on snacks and drinks we consumed on our hols (rest was stuff that came home with us)
Aventura Urban Pantry should have been $36.96 but $0 due to free credit

Being honest if we had not had the free credit we would have popped to somewhere like Wendy's for a quick bite for DH and DD spending a third of what the foodcourt was.

Supermarket spends don't come from my $100 a day cash either.

I still do the envelope system, so $100 cash a day and rollover the unused to the next day. Has always worked well for us.

Cost of Day 2 without supermarket $60.36
with supermarket $80.36
with supermarket and foodcourt $117.32

plus tip on one meal

Following along, been looking forward to this . We had an almost identical meal at Culvers, those milkshakes are the best I've ever had. and the cheese curds are delicious.
