Well we went in August which I suppose is the busiest time but didn’t find it that busy really. It was also nice and warm and sunny. Lakenlouise only 1-2 months earlier had been frozen over. I suppose it depends how you want to see it, snowy or sunny

Did you hire a car? What company did you use? Curious on the best to hire and is a 4x4 best? xx

We hired a car in Vancouver and dropped off in Calgary. It was a mid sized suv I’ll need to check exactly what it was...will do so tomorrow. It wasn’t massive though and didn’t need to be actually. The roads were immaculate!

I think we booked a car through Avis.
We flew with Air Transat, who were by far the cheapest, and they were very good. |

We booked through Avis too, however I wouldn’t recommend picking up from the Hornby Street location in Vancouver. They had a serious shortage of cars and we waited over 3 hours to collect ours.

Interesting and how annoying.
We picked ours up from the airport. In actual fact you don’t need a car to get around vancouver itself but we were only there a few days (need to go back), and as we had free parking at our accommodation it made sense just to pick it up immediately. OP - what are your plans for Vancouver? |
