We have a selection of Samsonite hard shell suitcases which range from 10-30 years old and have plenty life left in them. We have had the occasional handle or wheel damaged or broken. Simply called Samsonite customer service and they have sent replacement parts (free of charge if I remember correctly). DH can easily fit the parts and we now carry a spare of each part and a small screwdriver each trip just in case.
We also had a repair done once by a Samsonite approved repairer in Tampa, who collected and returned our case to our villa during our stay.

We bought our latest Samsonite, a soft shell cabin case, in Burlington for a very reasonable price. Try the likes of Ross, Marshall's or TJMaxx too.

Check out he usual Burlington Coat/Ross/TJ Maxx/Marshall and you'll get something good - got a roller hold-all style Samsonite for around $40 a few years ago when my case got wrecked on way over. Still looks as good as new after many flights to the US.
