Visitor discount

Hi all,

I've searched the forums but canot find anything.

I'm sure I've read somewhere that a store / department store gives you a tourist discount after showing your passport at customer services? Does anyone know the store?

Thank you.

Macy's - you just show your passport or Driving licence to get 10% discount. You can print off e-voucher but you'll still need ID.

Up to a few years ago we had to go to Gift Wrap/Customer Services in Macy's to get a discount card. Now we just get one at the till by simply asking - must be our accents.

Went in last November with a further 10% off voucher from Sunday's Sentinel and the guy at the till said "I've got a better one than that" and produced a bar code for 25% off from under the counter.

We bought two new suitcases in Macy's in Santa Barbara. RRP $500 for the two. It's President's week sale so they are half price = $250. It's the last day of sale so a further 25% is taken off so now $187.50 then the assistant knock the tourist 10% off so final cost $168:75. We thought we had got quite a bargain.

We love shopping at Macy's, some of the staff remember us as we shop there frequently, sometimes with all the discounts I think they will be giving us cash back instead of actually charging us anything at all ! . They always seem to apply an 'extra' discount coupon
from under the counter...

Thank you so much for your replies.

I just assume I ask for a visitor savings pass at customer services?

Hi You just tell them at the check out that you are from the UK, no need to go to customer services anymore. (Macy's)

I always ask very politely at the till in all large stores, if there are any discount coupons out at the moment (hint hint). It's surprising how often they reach under the counter, scan a tatty coupon and hey presto !
