use credits after check out?

Wondering if its possible to use any left over dining plan credits after check out? check out is before 11am and we will not be leaving for the airport until around 3 pm

We had 18 meal credits left on our last morning, and the guy at reception said to us - you have a lot of eating before you go

One family we saw at CBR didn't know they had dining included, fortunately a staff member told them, so they used all of the credits on their last day (meals and snacks) and filled a suitcase

They had so many things left over they were handing them out around the pool/restaurant areas.

The shelves were pretty bare when they'd gone

The 18 credits were after we had exchanged loads of sweets with other credits - I am still sure their system was wrong as we had meals most days and used up the snack credits.
