Our friend went to the LV shop @ Millenia and the assistant took time to work out the total cost in pounds then advised her to return and buy in the UK which she did. That was 18 months ago when the £ was not quite so bad.

Re sale value on LV is very high, unlike a lot of the many other brands. My daughter's both like LV, and although it wouldn't be my own choice , they have held onto their's much longer than any other brand including Mulberry. I guess that say's a lot about them, plus they have been trading for many years as well. If you are concerned about fakes, you can check the bags serial numbers out on a website called the purse forum. Hope this info helps.
Thank you - I appreciate you taking the time to give me the information

Your'e welcome, I hope you do manage to buy the bag you like. They have so many to choose from, remember you can buy a luggage tag and have free heat stamping with your initials. It does look nice attached to the handle of your bag. If you decide against a LV, Michael Cor's and Coach have some good buy's in the outlet's and also the department stores.

We've been to the LV shop at the MoM and by the time you've added the tax, stuff is the same price as here. My daughter saved for hers and we compared prices here, Paris and US and was a bit cheaper here, probably because of the rubbish exchange rates, so she bought hers at their store at Westfield, White City.

She loves it and you can definitely tell it's not a fake! If you've always wanted one and it's a big birthday and you can afford it, Heathrow T5 sounds like the place to go. Enjoy😀

Heathrow offer a personal shopper service.
The LHR website advises that you can book this 48 hours before your flight.
They may be able to deliver items to you that you've pre-ordered from a different terminal or if time allows (in excess of 3-4) hours) they may be able to escort you to another terminal's stores.

Just wading in as I'm a designer bag fan and I've always found the European brands are more expensive in the US, especially when you add on tax and right now with exchange rates.

As an indication I purchased a Chanel foundation in Vegas in October, it was $60 + tax (don't judge me!). It has just been released in the UK and it's about £40 (and I could've got Boots reward points!) - imagine that price different on a bag!

If you wanted to buy a bag in the US I've purchased Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs at outlets and Mall of Millenia branches, the tourist discount (do they still do that on the tax at places like Macy's etc) and they've always been cheaper; albeit not as much cheaper again because of the exchange rate.

As others have suggested Coach is a brand that is starting to get attention in the UK yet still not as popular so now is a good time to explore in the US and Duty Free can often offer some good bargains if you're planning to buy the bag anyway.
