help please - what size car would be good
Hi everyone, i have a few questions about hiring a car during our first visit to Orlando. We are a group of 11 (7 adults and 4 children) and I was wondering if 2 people carriers (7 seaters) would be big enough to get us all and our luggage to our Villa?
Also two of our party are disabled so how far is the journey to the car hire companies? thanks in advance |

If you use Alamo, Dollar or I think Avis the car pickup is across the road from the terminal (with lifts and ramps etc) so very easy to get to.
How heavy do you tend to pack? The people carriers do tend to be quite limited for luggage capicity (but would be fine for getting around once you get to your villa. It might be worth pricing up a taxi to the villa for part of the party while the rest take the cars, this may well be a lot cheaper than adding a bigger car (I think full size SUV was the next option to seat 6 or 7 with more luggage space. Another alternative (though not one I have used myself) is car on the drive. From reading about them in others trip reports, I get the impression they pick up your whole party from the airport and drive you to your villa where your car(s) are waiting

Thanks for this
I've also noticed that collecting from the airport is £200 per car more than collecting the car from, say, downtown Disney. What a difference! I'll also price up the option you suggestion Just to check - it's called 'far on the drive'? |

OP. The company is ''Car on the Drive''. Run by Peter and his Wife who are ex pats. Expensive!
I agree with the poster above, maybe 1 cab if the luggage proves too much. Once that's out of the equation it will be fine with two 7 seaters. I have never found the cars to be more expensive at the airport, who are you getting quotes from please to see that? Hertz is also in the garage across the road.
