Car hire vs uber help

We have a car booked for this year (standard suv for £279). Boyfriends first visit over 25 so we said we'd hire a car to make things more practical.

Last year we visited universal twice, several malls/outlets and ate offsite to which we got Uber's back from.

I have checked our über accounts and we spent $207 on all our journeys (this did include 2 free rides).

This year we want to be able to go to celebration, a couple off offsite golf courses and walmart.

I was just wondering if the car hire would actually work out costing us more with fuel too, I know fuels not too expensive over there. It also mean bf can drink whenever he likes without worrying about driving.

We are staying at cbr so I'm not sure how good the buses are getting us to parks and how much quicker driving would be. Could anyone help with that?

Struggling to decide whether to ditch the car and stick with uber, but we are looking forward to the freedom of the car and driving for the first time. But I'd rather do what's going to save us more money 🤔

Any help/suggestions appreciated

If you go on your historic spend and usage and then compare to a car hire plus gas at $2.28 a gallon there wont be much in it.

Pros. Flexibility, no hanging around for buses or an Uber, no lines for buses, no freezing cold if wet and in the cold air con. Do as you wish when you wish. No phone usage which adds up quickly.

Cons. Can't drink.

Done deal to me

Yes I don't think there would be much in it tbh. I think the nights he wants to drink we'll go springs or walk to millers at crossroads we did that last year.

I can't stand hanging round for buses and going all round the houses on the resort before you even get set off.

I always take the car and park it - way quicker.

I can't afford to drink in Disney World anyway

You are right - the freedom of the car is worth any little bit of extra it may cost you.
