Pre Ordering at BOG?

We have a lunch ADR at BOG and we are now within 30 days of travel. I believe that I can pre order our meal. This option isn't showing on the MDE app, would I be better off on the desktop site?
Also, will it mean we won't have to queue as long when we arrive? I think we are going at a quiet time, but I'm not sure exactly how it works. Any advice?

You can't do the pre-order on the app, it has to be on the desktop version.
After doing your pre-order you can make changes to it right up until the minute you check in. When you check in you get sent straight to the main door where there may be no queue, or just a short one. We've experienced both and I think the longest was 3 families before us. The cm will then confirm your order, make any changes that you want and take payment. If you don't pre-order then you get sent to join the queue for the ordering kiosks which can be long - it stretched all the way out of the castle and over the bridge when we were there last year so I was really pleased that we'd pre-ordered

Although you can't do it via the app I was still able to do it on my phone half an hour before our ADR so you don't need to make menu choices now. It made the process a lot quicker as there was an additional queue for ordering. I'll definitely pre order in the future.

Brilliant, thanks. Another issue is how do they know where we are sitting to deliver the order. I'm hoping to have bought magic bands by then (we're offsite this time and DH has 'lost' his old magic band) but if we just have the plastic tickets how will they find us?

2 ways - they either track your magic band or give you a rose that you put on your table. Don't do what our children did 1 year though and play air hockey with the rose on the table as it confuses the system - they had real trouble finding us as it looked like we were constantly moving!

Is it possible to pre- order things slightly different eg no sauce on the steak sandwich etc?

Yes - there are some options when you order. E.g. I ordered my turkey roll with no sauce or salad.

Definitely recommend ordering ahead, we waited about half an hour because we hadn't when others were walking straight in. I didn't know we could change our mind up until the day which was what stopped us so will definitely pre order this year.
