Toll charge 4 months after last visit?
We were last in Florida late August 2016 and had the sunpass as we flew into Miami this trip and travelled about a lot...up to Orlando ..out to cruise terminal etc.
I have a small amount iof £3,78 on my December credit card statement showing as Alamo toll charge. Is this normal? I would probably not hassle over the small amount - just bit worired they might do it again further down the line for a more significant amount. Is this normal? (we usually pay tolls by cash, so this situation is new to me.) Thanks,

There's a number of different tolling authorities around Florida and depending where your rental falls within their billing cycle means it may be a month or two until its charged to you... but 4 months is a bit excessive.
Have you checked the toll on htallc/alamo/ to confirm it is actually one of your tolls? |

As Andy has said, it is unusual but not unheard of for tolls to hit your credit card months later. Not the norm though.
I would be checking it was actually during your rental period.

I tried the link and it recall our rental agreement - error message says give us a ring. WE di hire via Auto-Europe but I have a 'proper' Alamo ref. no. and we did straight to the garage etc.
I thought the Sunpass was a flat rate per day? No? The ref. no. on my credit card ends in NY. This could be nothing to do with new York, but I wonder. (we didn't go anywhere near there...) I might drop them an email. Thankfully it's only a couple of quid.

We had the same pop up on our credit card just before xmas, an AVIS transaction for 49p... we went at the end of August and came home the 8th September, and the main toll charge for £45 came through in October so 8 weeks after we got back. I'd forgotten all about it till I read this!

With Alamo their toll price is $3.95 per usage day up to a maximum of $19.75, plus the sign posted toll.
Dollar / Thrifty and a couple others are the ones who charge a flat rate ($52.49 per week!) and include the tolls in the price. |
