kitchenAid
Being an American brand I wondered if anyone has bought any kitchenAid products ? Have you had any bargains whether its bakeware or kitchen accessories. Would any of their appliances work in the uk? Have seen things that can be shipped over but was considering the voltage .Thanks

I have bought several attachments for mine when I'm here at the villa usually in a JC Penny Sale and haven't had any issues but I always check they are compatible with my model number

We bought a mixer about 4 years ago in Walmart approx $150 in the sales over thanksgiving/ Black Friday we paid for an extra bag for it & all our extra shopping. My husband bought a transformer off eBay for it & it works perfectly well. Just keep the transformer in a cupboard until I need to use it.Even with the extra case & transformer it was still cheaper than buying a mixer over here.I also had one of the food prossessors the year after, from BB& B approx $80.. in the sale.I use the same transformer I have for the mixer.Never had any problems.

ok, few things to bear in mind when buying kitchenaid kit in the US... the accessories all work fine, but the mixer and other electrical items need a step-down converter. otherwise you will blow them up! there are smaller/cheaper ones, but they are designed for low power equipment, so get a 500W or higher rated one to make sure it will work ok
amazon/Rockstone-P...5094b1ab8bc7a6 secondly. bear in mind that the warranty wont be valid if something goes wrong with it (especially if the step-down transformer you use happens to be the cause!) - so youll have a $300 door stop. if youre prepared to take the risk of it developing a fault and not being covered under warranty, and the ugliness of having a breeze block for a power supply, then go for it! hth *edit* i considered it, but kept putting it off because i was waiting till we moved house. then we did, but the exchange rate fell through the floor thanks to brexit. now, i just dont think its worth the extra cost/hassle. im going to get one from lakeland instead... I was prepared for the risk, I know the converter isn't nice to look at but as I said I keep it in the cupboard until I've needed it.I knew the warranty would not be valid &I was willing to take the risk.As I said I have had no problems at all.All you have said is very valid & airs on the side of caution & safety. With the info you give & from myself & other dibbers it is now up to the thread starter to make up their mind if they will buy over in the USA?

I agree, its up to you if you want to go with the US one and the converter. However the accessories are cheaper in the US. I got a lot of mine in Target for the mixer, then in Ross bought grater, peeler, etc. Have to say, I have the pans and not so happy with them though.

I have the knives too. Use the little peeling one daily, in fact just peeled some onions for a chilli with it. Dont know if they are any better/worse than any other brand name. I had just had heard of Kitchenaide so bought those! Do really love the mixer though. Its too tempting to want to make nice things though! I love it for whipping potato and turnips instead of mashing them.
I would never ever pay 400 pounds for a knife block. A small car maybe! Edited at 02:40 PM. |

Judging by your countdown, are you going to be there for Black Friday next year? I've been checking some of this year's deals and this might be of interest to you!
bfads/Kohls-Black-Friday-2016-Ad-Posted It looks like they usually do a deal on KitchenAid every year! |
