Dining plan only covers two meals
Hiya,
Sorry to ask a silly question but from what I can see the QSDP and DDP only cover two meals a day so would we need to budget for paying for another meal each day? Or is there a way of spreading them out to cover eating 3 times a day? Thanks for your help |

We tend to have a buffet breakfast using a TS and then we're not hungry for lunch. We then would use the QS for dinner.
Or we'd QS for brek, use the snack for lunch and have a TS meal in the evening. It really is quite a lot of food - DH and I often share a QS meal! |

Come over to the dining reviews section on the dibb. You will see how much food.
Some people will have days away from disney or share meals so they have extra credits. How many are going? If you have kids they can eat adult QS meals no need to make them have kids. So maybe 3 of you share 2 QS. I assume you are 2017 with the 2 snacks DDP. Snacks can be very substantial and will do as meal, baked potato and cheese, cheese and fruit platter, mickey pretzel etc. Lots of people use a snack for breakfast so a pastry, bagel etc. Remember you can swap your drink for a snack at quick service places eg get a soup, extra fries etc making 1 QS easily shareable. Use your resort refill mug or get a free cup of water to drink. |

It depends how you eat. We wouldn't normally have a large breakfast plus lunch and dinner. Usually it's a snack breakfast like a bagel or pastry then normal lunch and dinner. If we have a buffet breakfast we might only have a light lunch. Most meals are large enough for sharing or you might make it go farther with a snack addition.

We normally use the snack for breakfast, QS for an early lunch & then TS for dinner. Its a lot of food, often we will take desert from lunch or dinner & have that for breakfast the following day.

We had a grocery delivery of breakfast stuff so if we didn't have a breakfast reservation we would have some cereal/toast/bagels in the room. If we had a breakfast reservation we didn't really need a lunch as we would be full until dinner time. There is so much food on the dining plan, we had so many dining credits left and hardly spent a penny, please don't worry that its not enough.

Had the QS in May this year and never only bought one sandwich once at EOS as I didnt want to use a full meal on it so payed the $6 , that was for the two of us.
We also brought loads home using our snack credits. More than enough food.

Our family of 4 would use 1 QS and 1 snack for 4 pastries for breakfast and then 2 QS and maybe another snack for lunch. We always switch one of the drinks or the dessert for our QS meals for an extra side to bulk out the meal. Normally an extra fries we are not big pudding people and would rather have an ice cream with our remaining 2 snack credits and 1 QS later. We only had DDP for 9 days this year and had 7 unused QS and 8 unused snack credits left by the end.

We're a family of 4 with 2 teenagers and have had the dining plan 4 times (quick service twice and full dining plan twice) and we don't spend any money extra food drinks and snacks. Honestly, on paper it doesn't look like it will be enough but in reality it is plenty. We do take some of the mini variety boxes of cereals for mornings when we just want a quick bite in our room and to head straight out to the parks. The resort shops sell milk, so we buy a carton of that as the rooms all have fridges.
We do a lot of sharing - not to stretch the credits, but because there's a lot of food included with some meals. Also, next year you get 2 snack credits per person, so they're good to use on things like fruit, yoghurt parfaits, cereal, danishes, muffins etc for breakfast.

Agree with other replies. I feared it wouldn't be enough, we have had both QSDP and DDP. My kids can eat like hobbits and at home will regularly have 1st breakfast, 2nd breakfast, snack, lunch, tea, dinner, ... but we didn't buy any extra food, not even stuff to have in the hotel room for breakfast. We didn't do any grocery shops either. We shared lunches and got free water instead of buying drinks with credits or money. I thought this might cause arguments, or that I would feel embarrassed to ask for extra plates, but neither of these things happened. Plates etc were given out happily by cast members and swapping drinks for snacks or sides was never a problem. Kids and DH liked the sharing as it meant we could all try a bit of everything and there really is so much choice, so this was good. The only thing that was tricky to share was a chilli dog as this is a bit messy. But most items can be cut in half easily. We ended up with loads of spare credits and brought food home as snacks.
The only drink we paid for was alcohol as we like to have a bottle of wine with dinner or a cocktail or 2 in world showcase. But if you dont drink alcohol it is more than adequate and you will be stuffed.
