Florida without Disney

So we are hoping to go August 2018, last time in 2015 according fitbit we walked over 100 miles during our 2 week stay most of that at theme parks. With the demise in the pound and massive increase in Disney admission combined with my crap knee joints we are considering life without Disney parks Our boys are now 10 and 15 so Universal is the main draw for them and is much better value. Are we doing the right thing? What are your views?

Hi
We take it year about (in this case 2 years! ).
We do a Disney holiday where we stay in the bubble and only do Disney. Or we stay on IDrive and don't do Disney at all, and go to Universal, SeaWorld etc. There is so much to do outwith Disney, it would be a shame to miss it!

We don't do any Disney or universal parks now, albeit the water parks. We find loads to do for the two weeks, haven't missed them yet either 😉

There are loads of things you can do for days out other than Disney Parks.

We are going this year and there will only be Disney Springs. We won't be doing any other parks either.

Last year we did not do Disney other than Disney Springs and spent 3 days at Universal Parks and the rest of the time relaxing, lounging by the pool, shopping, strolling around our resort etc and loved it.
That said this year, oldest Son & GF are coming too and she's a Disney nut so we're going back to pretty much all the parks and little rest.

We're not doing any Disney or Universal parks at all.
We plan on Seaworld and BG with a trip to the beach and that's it. A holiday that is just full on parks isn't a holiday to us.

We went in 2015, DD was 14 and DD 11 and didn't do any Disney parks. We'd done them in 2012 and done DLP and wanted to spend a decent amount of time at the Universal parks, BG and AQ and redid SW and DC. We had a fantastic time and it wouldn't have been so rushed to redo Disney. This year we're not going anywhere near Orlando and don't think we'll miss the parks
