USB help please
Can someone help me please . My son has a Lenovo laptop and I’ve just got him a dell chromebook for uni . He will need to transfer his notes ( word etc ) etc over so I’m thinking a usb stick would be the easiest way ? Can anyone point me on Amazon what to buy ? There’s so many I don’t want to buy the wrong thing and I’m not technical at all. Thank you in advance for helping a poor mum out

I’ve got Kingston make, which do the job, various sizes, I have the 16GB for my music in the car. Holds 160 albums as an example. Amazon, cheapest.

sandisk are good and this one has dual USB plug so could be useful depending on the connector on the chromebook amazon/dp/B01M127X8F
But also consider just pushing the files up onto something like dropbox (2gb free) as he should be able to access them from any location and can't loose it. |

Thank you both , I’d not considered Dropbox . It has a micro ds card slot, 2 usb ( normal ) slots and a hdmi slot. I’ll show him both and mention Dropbox .

Easy way with a chromebook is potentially Google Drive if you don't want to buy a USB.

So if he had the word app on the chromebook and saved it to google drive , would he log in on his laptop to retrieve the documents and download onto the laptop ?
Sorry for sounding thick , You would think these days kids would know more than me !

For anything Microsoft generated, the easiest thing to use is One Drive IMO.
I save all my Word/Excel stuff straight to my One Drive account, that I can access from anywhere. Another quick way is to do a draft email, upload the files and leave it as a draft... open the draft email on the new laptop and download the files.
