Hotel Benidorm. Feb 22. Sangria and Sun. Day 1. A walk around town.

Tuesday 1st February

Had a lovely late start, getting up around 9. Woke up to dazzling sun on the balcony.

Breakfast is served until 10 on weekdays so we headed to the restaurant.
So much choice, usually don’t see hash browns but they are available daily here.

And crepes

Matt and I wanted to go walking, Tracy and Paul said they would meet us later.
The seafront was a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The weather was unbelievable, I stopped in a tat shop as I had forgot my sun visor so picked up one for €3.
Matt wanted to see how the flamingo oasis hotel was looking so we headed there.

They really crack on with things as this hotel is due to open in May I think.
We walked a little further to the Benidorm palace.

Lovely view from here.

Then it was back toward town, going through the indoor market which exits near the hotel solana from Benidorm tv show.

It’s really called Sol Pelicannos and was closed on our last visit.
Happy to see it open so we had to look at that famous pool, which was huge.

Couldn’t resist a photo by the outside bar, Shame it wasn’t open for a drink.

Crossed the road to Neptune’s, real name Morgan’s tavern.

They have live music every night, usually about 5 different bands so we wanted to know which night would be best to visit.
We had walked for a couple of hours and were flagging so made our way back to the hotel, past English square which was boarded up.

I had a slush cocktail at the hotel.

Todor was working today and he was lovely, we got talking about gins and he poured us one he recommended to try.
We sat by the pool for the afternoon sun
Janette came round with a photo quiz, guess the singers which we joined in with. We came second.
We moved around getting the last of the sun before getting changed and going for dinner.

It was good but my least favourite of the holiday.
Entertainment tonight was 2 singers, a man and woman, they were brilliant. She sung slower songs and he did more upbeat tunes.
A Kahoot quiz followed, these are great fun if you haven’t tried them. Category was food and drink, we came second again. The prize was a baseball cap so we said we needed to win a quiz as Paul had forgot his hat 🤣
Music was in until 12, sure we staggered up about 12.45 tonight.

Edited at 09:31 AM.

Brilliant!
Great photos, happy memories of taking pretty much the same walk around Benidorm.
Off to Benalmadena next week, hope we get the sunshine like you!

Gorgeous sunshine and a tasty breakfast, what a great start to the day. I loved the tv series of Benidorm, Shame Matteo wasn’t behind the bar to serve you 😂
