Family Board game for teens & adults?

It’s not for us it’s for dd’s bf’s family and I don’t know them so recommendations are much appreciated.

We have exploding kittens ds loves it but wasn’t sure It would be suitable for basically adult only groups

We have exploding kittens and I just dont get it! Everytime we play it I think im going to have to watch a YouTube video about it because we're playing it right (as far as I know) but it's just quite an odd game! 🤣

We are board gamers... Wednesday night has always been our game night.

Competitive ones we love Cluedo, and Destination (an easy one to follow) especially the Harry Potter themed ones. Labyrinth is a quick one, but fun. Carcassonne another go to if not playing with Gran as it is a bit more complex.

Collaborative ... Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery... our absolute favourite game since the kids were old enough to understand working together. Pandemic is another go to.

We also enjoy Scrabble, and Risk, and got the oldie but goodie Colditz out the other night...

Brilliant, it is great fun... just to add, don't rush the early levels... it is very tempting, but it gets harder! And time spent learning how to play together to win really pays off.
