I also do this as I used to buy make your own cracker kits but that's more expensive usually. Does mean you end up with plastic tat that you take out but they are often good for geocaches.

I also try to buy my cheap crackers in January to keep cost even lower and then just pack them away in loft with the Xmas decs so I don't forget about them as they come down with all rest of Xmas stuff.

I buy crackers that co-ordinate with my table decor then add scratch cards and chocolate. I don’t buy the ones with the plastic tat though. The ones I have this year have nail clippers, bottle opener, corkscrew, fancy paper clips etc.
The nail clippers, corkscrew and bottle opener from over the years go in my travel toiletries bag and always come in handy.😂

If you buy lottery tickets for everyone do you work out what you’d do if one of the guests won a life changing amount of money?
Just think if one of your more casual guests won a million, I’d be gutted!

This year I found a really nice DIY kit at Homesense for £6 - big sturdy crackers with hat, joke and snap included. I then add chocolate and scratchcard and we all share winnings over £100.

I do this too! However, I've been gifted some extra special ones and now I have to change my table to match the crackers 😂

Beautiful. I bet they don't contact any tat. Please let us see the style of hat such beautiful crackers contain. But will the jokes be better? Far too invested I know. 😂

They are in all stores - mine came from Liverpool
I won't be putting them on the table for Christmas Day - my sister can have the tk Maxx ones

I’m also reluctant to have all the plastic or metal tat so have grand plans to make mine but rarely actually get round to it.
In the past I’ve put miniature bottles or scratch cards, Lego keyrings etc inside.
This year DH bought some lovely ones from Sophie Allport (to bump up his basket for free shipping 🤦🏼 )
I have no idea what’s inside.
Last year I bought some little house shaped ones with a doodling game inside which were fun. I’m sure they were from Sainsbury’s or Tesco. They’d be great for children especially
