Shelter Scotland one is heartbreaking 💔

I thought the JL advert was good personally although surprised they didn’t go for one that draws in the kids as well through merchandising. Fair play though, it was back to basics and I enjoyed the story. My other 2 favourites are the BFG Sainsbury’s ad and the Dawn French M&S Food ad.

No they’re taking great offence to Mrs Claus not having white skin - she’s played by Adjoa Andoh (or Lady Danbury from Bridgerton as I know her!)

No, I believe the offence caused, is mainly, due to her remarks at the time of the kings coronation when she stated on live TV that the family on the balcony were too white. Perceived as a racist remark by many.

That’s my understanding of why people are complaining about the Boots ad. It’s the actress they don’t like for that particular reason, her coronation comment.

Ah I’ve only seen the comments on the YouTube video which were toxic, I hadn’t seen any regarding the coronation but apparently Boots have been deleting them each day so perhaps that’s why! Even so, can’t imagine the same people taking quite so much offence to a white anti-establishment actress in the role 🤷🏻

Equally can’t imagine taking the time to be outraged by Christmas ads but there we go 😂

The full quote was "gone from the rich diversity of the Abbey to a terribly white balcony".

Its an observation. It’s not a factually incorrect observation. I think it’s convenient for some to jump on it but, as a white british person, i personally see no grounds for offence.

I was merely pointing out the apparent dislike for the Boots add was related to the actress taking the lead role and not skin colour.

I can’t get my head around how people can dislike her to the extent they are boycotting Boots, on the basis of that comment.
