Our Christmas time is a bit odd to normal. We have custody time of my step kids on boxing day and the following day.

Christmas eve- kids go back to mum's mid day. My side then have our annual bowling tournament and dinner out.

Christmas day - this changes every year. This year we think it may be my husbands grandparents last year with us so we are going to host the family over if they are up for it. If they aren't then it will be me and hub in the day and we make dinner and my mum joins us.

Boxing day - we get the kids early morning and do 'christmas day' with them. I made a feast to feed a thousand and we invite all the family both sides over and have a party.

It will be my first Christmas without my dog Kody as well, sadly he crossed the rainbow bridge in July.
I live alone as DH die a few years ago and it’s horrible waking up in an empty house still.
I would love to get another dog but will, take some planning as I still work part time
Regarding Christmas, I’m working 9-5 Christmas Eve and Christmas Day y sons partner is also working Christmas Day until 6 pm but hopefully they will be able to pop over in the evening
DD lives miles away with her partner and was here last Christmas so with her in laws this year - will touch base with them at some point on Christmas Day
Boxing Day I’m not working, my SIL is working until 2 then later that afternoon I will have my 2 brothers and SIL’s popping over for the afternoon and for tea and games in the evening

I’m so sorry, that must be even harder for you. I hope you can get another when the time is right for you. Kody sounds like he was so loved xx
