I buy from a great local butcher , a seperate pork butcher and my turkey cones from a friend who raises organic turkey
I have to say DS who works for Aldi does the same but brought the fresh crown in for e to cook for his great aunts who love turkey at any time and it really was lovely
I usecDelia smith turkey recipe and cut down the cook time a meat thermometer is really your friend when cooking turkey
I’m in Florida now and picked up 3 huge turkeys at 50cents a pound and droped them off at a local church who feed folks 7 days a week a hot meal and a sandwich etc to take away

My only advice is to avoid the cheap and nasty frozen crowns. Buy fresh from a local butcher, online butcher or direct from Kelly Bronze.

I had one of the ‘cheap and nasty frozen crowns’ from Aldi. It was absolutely delicious, the best we’ve had in years.

We had 2 from Food warehouse and everyone commented on how nice it was!
Never had an issue with frozen turkey crowns.

We never use our local butcher as his window display has half frozen meat in it - yuck.

Another vote for the likes of Aldi
