Has anyone flown AA99 Heathrow-Chicago then A2398 Chicago-Orlando
Was the layover plenty of time or pushing it a bit 2A and 1c

Never done these flights however changed at Chicago plenty of times.

Looks like there is about 2hrs 10 mins between flights.

Could be a bit tight if the transatlantic flight is late as you will need to change terminals.

However in your favour is arriving at 1000 hrs I would not expect massive lines in the immigration hall due to loads of other transatlantic arrivals so you should be through fairly quick !

My gut feeling would be to go for it !

I would never change in Chicargo in winter, look at the weather right now, lots of snow.

We did AA55 in August with approx 3 hr layover which was plenty of time then. The bus ride between terminals was something else though, the driver was really going for it. It was like being in wacky races! So with that in mind I’m with munmun and wouldn’t like to do that in winter!

My advice would be look for the BA indirect flight into Charlotte which usually gives you 2hr 30min layover. Further enough down the coast in winter where the weather shouldn't be too bad. We flew back out via Charlotte in Feb and found the airport really easy to navigate around.

Bearing in mind you you will have to go through immigration i still think you will have plenty of time

I've had a look and if its next summer then it only looks like about 1 hour 40 connection, I would say doable, quite tight - but doable. As others have mentioned all it takes is for a slight delay, and also you have to get from T5 at ORD to T3, get through immigration/customs at ORD. Your morning arrival at ORD should be one of the few international arrivals at that time. Worst case scenario is that the next AA on to MCO is 3 hours later.

Ils offers good advice with the suggestion of Charlotte, might be worth a look.
