C&L WDW and Disney Cruise Trip Sept 2019 - Day 20 - MK and MNSSHP

Day 20 - Magic Kingdom and MNSSHP

We had a lie in as we were of to MNSSHP tonight so it would be a late one in the park . We were so excited as part of the reason we decided September time was so we got to go to MNSSHP.

We got up about 8 and went over and got breakfast from El Mercado, this was very busy. We both ended up getting mickey waffles as the queue for anything else was huge. There were a lot of conference guests getting breakfast at that time. We wouldn't have usually used 2 QSDP credits on such a breakfast but we were using them us.

We had received our tragic express notification for the next day , I'm glad it arrived before we left for the park though so we knew what time we had to be back at the resort the next day as we were popping over to MK for a Be our Guest reservation.

We got ready, finished packing everything we could and then left about 10.30 to go to MK. We decided to take an extra bag and get a locker for the day, that way we could take a change of clothes for the evening and didn't have to worry about carrying it around all day with us, and we could put all the candy in it later .

We got to MK just after 11, it was very slow getting around our resort today.

We first went on under the sea, the Dumbos and stopped for some photos before we used our thunder mountain FP.

It was so hot again today at 33° which I think was very warm for end of Sept, so we went and got a frozen lemonade to cool down. We stopped for photos around the park.

We went on Pirates of the Caribbean then used our Seven Dwarfs FP.

Splash mountain queue was at 25 mins so we waited for it, we then managed to get on jungle cruise in 5 mins. The parade was on so was a good chance to get on it, the queue had been showing as around 45 mins the rest of the day

We went and did our space mountain FP.

We got the monorail to the polynesian as we had a dining reservation for 3.30 at Ohana. We couldn't believe how slow the monorail is, we left half an hour and only just made it.

We checked in and was shown to our table, we both ordered a cocktail and got our salads and starters.

All of the tables around us started to get the meat so after waiting patiently over 10 mins thinking they would soon visit us, I asked our waiter when we would be getting the meat. He was very rude, he was clearly not happy and asked if we were in a rush, I said no we weren't but we had just wondered as every other table had been visited. He said we were obviously in a rush so went and got some chicken and literally threw it onto my plate. He said if we were so unhappy with his service he can go get the manager.

The manager unsurprisingly was extremely apologetic, I went to the bathroom and heard our waiter talking about us to other waiter so told the manager on my way back how disappointed I was, he was shocked and profusely apologised. We got a new waiter who could not have been more different, he was so lovely, kept checking if we needed more food etc.

The meal was still good and we absolutely loved our banana bread pudding!

We asked for the check and he advised that the manager had said that we should not pay for the meal after the way our original waiter had treated us. We were shocked, but honestly never known service like it, let alone in Disney. We tipped our second waiter who seemed surprised but he definitely made up for the first waiter!

We weren't going to let it affect our holiday and the food was amazing, probably better than Monday!

We were going to go for a drink, but didn't fancy staying at polynesian so we got on the monorail and went for a drink at the Grand Floridan. It was a nice chance to see this hotel too, we just got a drink from the lobby bar and sat enjoying the band.

Once we finished our drink we went back to MK and got our wristbands for MNSSHP.

We got changed as we had taken some clothes in the locker. We were super hot after the afternoon in the park so were grateful for the change.

We stopped for some photos and were shown a back way up main street as they were trying to get people to leave the park who weren't there for the party.

We went on space mountain, it took about 20 mins and was amazing in the dark! It was still light out and some crept in so we wanted to do it again once dark out.

We went over to do Pirates of the Caribbean, the park was busy and the party was sold out so we were expecting it and decided we just were going to do what we could but mostly enjoy the atmosphere. Pirates took about 20 mins. There wasn't as many live pirates as we expected but they were good fun!

We got some candy then went on thunder mountain, this took about 15 mins. The parade was starting in about 30 mins, so it was quite busy around. We were planning to see the late parade, space mountain had about a 45 min queue so we decided to wander round instead, getting photos.

We got a photo with Lotso Bear, stopped at lots of candy points. We went back to our locker to drop of the sweets, lots of people seemed to be leaving the park after the parade.

We were going to get a snack but the queues were huge and it was nearly fireworks time, the party was going so quickly .

The fireworks were amazing, the projections onto the castle were so clever. We stood tomorrowland side so we could hurry straight off to space mountain. It worked well as we got on in 10 mins.

We got some more sweets, some chilli cheese fries to share and jack and sally cake pops. I had Jack which was chocolate and cream, Chris had Sally which was strawberry and cream. They were nice but quite difficult to eat!

This was the headless horseman but didn't manage to get a very good photo

We watched the parade just as it was coming towards the castle, it seemed quite slow and stopped a couple of times so not sure if something had forced it to stop. It was fun though and the song is so catchy.

We went to go through one more candy stop, then noticed space mountain only had a 5 min wait so we decided to have one more go. It was now past midnight and the party had finished, the villain spectacular was going on, we had seen bits of it through the night so we didn't stop to watch all of it.

We got to the bus stop and a bus turned up, we assumed we wouldn't get on but we had a brilliant bus driver who squeezed loads on, we don't mind standing so were happy to get on.

We got back and finished packing, it was a very late night by the time we got to bed but it was worth it! Definitely one of the best days of the holiday.

We had over 3kg worth of sweets!

We were very sad it had been our last day!
