Home Away or VRBO?

Morning all,

Looking at booking a trip for this September. I usually use Home Away (the old Owners Direct) but have stumbled across VRBO.

This looks like a US version of Home Away and have some properties at Vista Cay that are on VRBO that are not on HA.

Has anyone used VRBO? Any thoughts on it good or bad?

Many thanks

Shaun

I've booked through them with no issues - they're owned by Expedia (as is homeaway as Bee Happy points out, it's difficult to find booking sites that aren't owned by Expedia!) - only recommendation would be to make sure you pay through the VRBO checkout (rather than any external payment pages) so that you're covered by their payment protection.

HomeAway and VBRO are brands, owned by Expedia. As villa owners we advertise via HomeAway UK but our advert also automatically appears on VBRO, HomeAway US, etc.

The different brands resonate in different geographical areas, so each serves it’s own unique purpose.

Both are excellent companies, that share the same corporate ownership.

VRBO is more well known in the US, with Home Away being more recognized out of the US

I would have no problem highly recommending people to book with them.
