Staying at Universal hotel for one night?

My son and his girlfriend are hoping to stay at one of the Universal hotels for 1 night so they can access the express tickets.

Is it straightforward to check in at 8am the first day?

Any ideas for where to get the best deal?

Thanks

It is straight forward to check in at 08:00 however the room may not be ready and if it is not then they will send you a text when it is ready but you will be given your room key at check in which acts as your Express Pass.

As for price I usually look on Trivago to see who is cheapest. The Hard Rock is the closest but the Royal Pacific is usually slightly cheaper but I would budget around £200 for the night.

We have booked one night in the royal pacific end of March, the cheapest price we could get was £350 for a single night, so we used our tesco vouchers through hotels.com and only had to pay a little over £100. Also that’s for 5 of us.

Travelbag is usually quite cheap.

No problems to check in early, you just check in as you would at any time of day, they give you room keys (which are the folp) and juat say they won't work on your room until later.

Lots of people do this- Check can be busy early morning-you can check in even earlier if you want to make early opening at 8am. You will get a text usually 3-4 ish to get into your room- you'll already have the key as its your express card. The market place opens at 6am if you want a coffee or pastry.

Really easy - you’ll get an express pass but will have to return to the front desk to pick up new room keys once your room is ready (or when you get back from the park) this will replace your day 1 express pass. We booked through Hotel.com and used their price guarantee if I saw it cheaper after I had booked. Next day we put our luggage with bell services and left the car in the car park, until we came back from the park and left.

If you were checking in for Club level at RPR at 8am would you be able to use any of the lounge facilities from that time, or would it be from 3pm onwards when your room might be ready?

No issues but can be busy- lots of people doing the same. Room won't be ready until later. When we did it left our cases in the car until we came back later, we arrived about 7am to get to an 8am early opening- this was before express on the Harry Potter rides.
