I've been looking for somewhere for some winter sun in February on another thread. Someone suggested Cape Verde, which looks quite lovely although the flights don't work for us, they may for you, but it looks quite "honeymoon" like.
The Azores? Or somewhere in the UAE - Dubai, Abu Dhabi etc? Good luck in choosing - you could always do a North American city break but it certainly wouldn't be warm but would be fun! |

Maybe forget the sun idea and go to the other extreme and choose cold, possibly snowy and romantic ? Austria perhaps , gorgeous cities like Vienna or Salzburg plus Christmas markets, and your photos won't look like every other holiday. Some of the Scandinavian cities are lovely too.

Ive already suggested this and its been completely denied!
OH doesnt know what hes missing with the snow! I can see where he is coming from though, both of us always struggle to get through the cold in the winter, hence why we always go on holiday between Oct & Mar! Plus our birthday are in Jul so we tend to spend that doing some sort of Staycation. (another reason he isnt satisfied with a romantic UK break)

Dang ...I bet you wish you'd booked a summer wedding now lol
Is a cruise on your radar ? Cuba is a nice mix of Beach and history Or if you ignore weather the Channel Islands are pretty and could be really romantic if a bit chilly |

Surprisingly no! haha! We got engaged in the Winter so wanted to get married in the Winter! Plus if we had booked a summer wedding there would be no Nov trip this year or honeymoon!
Yes Cruises are on the radar but would want an adult only as OH wasnt keen on the amount of kids around on the one we did! (normally would be ok... hello Disney! haha! but for honeymoon he just wants to relax!) Channel Islands are a definite no for me! been far too many times as im named after a place in Jersey and my parents honeymooned there... so nope!

I took my husband (phobic of EVERYTHING) for our first couples holiday on a tour of the Far East.
We did a week in Penang, beautiful beaches and the food is cheap! Then we flew to Kuala Lumpur for 4 nights and travelled up to the Highlands on the bus. It’s gorgeous up there and I think about £10 on the bus there and back. Our final stop was Hong Kong. I love the city. There is so much to do and it’s very user friendly. It also happens to have a terrific amusement park that has an odd black squeaky creature as the mascot. Not sure what it was but it was EPIC 😉 and totally empty! For the two of us with b&b 4* hotels I paid £1500. He had the best time and would happily go back there again. We will take the kiddies when they are older! We used travel bag as they specialise in these sorts of itineraries. We could also chose the hotels we wanted and they tailored it to us. I wouldn’t do KL again as it’s mainly the towers there. But I’ve been to Penang and HK at least 7 times. Just realised I’ve waffled on a bit 🤭 happy planning! |
