Excited about Disney

September 2019 - Too much for a first timer?
Finished my first rough draft for two week stay from the 15th of September to the 29th staying at all star sports with a quick service dining upgrade. I’ve hit a snag.
I’m a seasoned traveler to Disney and a former employee. So I’m used to busy on your feet Disney days. I don’t really believe in rest days because I think you spend so much money...it’s a wasted day and you can rest at home. My friend has never been. He’s super keen to get as much done as possible but I’m worried that my plan might burn a first timer out. We’re both 23 Day 1 - Flight day & if we can be in our hotel before seven then head to Springs for food. Day 2 - MK - Pool Break midday - MK Day 3 - DAK Day 4 - DHS Day 5 - Epcot Day 6 - US Day 7 - Typhoon half day - MK evening Day 8 - IOA Day 9 - Epcot/DHS Day 10 - MK/DAK Day 11 - Volcano Bay half day - HHN or MNSSHP? Day 12 - Shopping - DHS Day 13 - Universal/IOA Day 14 - Mix of whatever we wanna do for the final time - MK evening Day 15 - DAK and home

I wouldn’t have thought that plan would cause any issues for another healthy 23 year old. I am not sure that being a first timer makes a difference either.

Looks great to me. At the end of the day, you've got 2 weeks you can always cut down a little in the 2nd week if needed but I think for 2 23 year olds that would be OK

Should probably add that he is in remission for a cancer which he was diagnosed with last year.
He’s fit and well now but my worry is probably coming from me not knowing how he’ll react to the long days, but if he’s tired I can always change things about!

Looks good to me - just cut days shorter if you need and adapt as you feel you need/want to when you're there - you'll still see loads whatever way you do it and I am sure you will have a fantastic time!

I think what catches a lot of people out is the amount of walking you as you will know from experience. Tell him to build up his walking stamina and get decent footwear.

Firstly, glad to hear he's in remission!
I'm not sure what his stamina's like, but if he's a young fit man of 23, you should be both good with that Itinerary. I'm not sure if he's been through treatment, but depending on what you judge his stamina to be like it could be worth looking in to wheelchair rentals, just in case during the holiday he starts to struggle at all, you'll have a contingency plan. They're very accommodating for wheelchairs, and with my Nanna, they took us nearer the front of the queues so she didn't have to plod around for so long. |
