Can't speak for Disney's DVC (it's actually closer to Sebastian than Vero Beach itself) but I am a mozzie magnet and didn't get bitten even once staying in Vero itself . It's a lovely area , we counted ten people on the beach on a weekend morning (it gets busier in snowbird season though according to my friend who lives there)

May go 2020, it'll be that or Hilton Head.

Ahh insect bites, my specialist subject! I'm a mossie magnet, my record to date is 42 bites in one night in Cancun, didn't get bitten at all the first night so risked going out without repellent the next night - rookie mistake.
For noseeums at Vero the advice was to buy locally, which we did, we found a pharmacy near the resort and bought basically 100% deet, it made my eyes water and melted my nail varnish but no bites. I have a whole host of products - mostly deet free - that I swear by as have had some corking bites that go on to turn into cellulitis so do my best to avoid being bitten.

Poohbear 42 bites in a night sounds horrendous!
Unfortunately I'm allergic to them and they often swell up to the size of golf balls.

Happens to me every time I get bitten. I have to take antihistamines and use an antihistamine gel which really helps. I won’t venture out at sunset or sunrise in Vero without protection but the location and the complete chill factor is worth the risk

I once fell asleep with the light on my first night in Greece. I woke up to a face full of bites (the rest of me was under the sheet). It wasn't pretty !
I wasn't bitten at all in Vero . |

Once I was in Venice Florida and the hotel receptionist couldn’t believe the swelling on my leg bites, and gave me these little capsules you broke and put the juice on. No idea what it was, but helped I recall.

We have stayed at Vero and none of us got bitten... I didn’t even know it was an issue there!
