Hertz at MCO
Considering hiring a Premium SUV from Hertz such as a Suburban, Yukon XL or Ford Expedition XL.
As a Gold Rewards Member, does anybody know if: 1. I can go straight to the garage and bypass the desk having checked in online? 2. There is a choice similar to how Alamo works once at the garage? We usually use Alamo but the price is significantly more than with Hertz via Costco Travel. Thanks in advance. F |

Yes you can go straight to the garage. There is a choice if you’re a certain level I believe but it’s not something I’ve ever taken advantage of. The last twice I’ve booked a Prestige car so happily accepted what I was given.

Hi
As Sha9 says you can go straight to the garage where your name will be on the board with the Bay# your allocated vehicle is in. (assuming you have said which flight you’re arriving on and go to that sides garage). There is choice lanes but unless you have President or higher status they are predominantly for for those renting intermediate to full-size cars, never seen anything bigger in those lanes. Alex |

If its the first time you have used gold rewards then you have to visit a counter. This is supposed to be done in the terminal, I 'forgot' and was processed at the gate with no issues.

We were first time gold members (needed to create another account for DH as we had forgotten his membership number and he has a new email address) and did not go to counter or office 2 weeks ago. Name on board with bay allocated and email received. All processed at exit, nothing mentioned to us And didn't appear to be any longer than when we've used Alamo.
In previous years when we've not been happy with our allocated car we've gone to the office and it's been changed without issue.

The Only thing I do not like with Hertz Gold at mco is the pool of cars Gold's can choose from, the cars were all a downgrade from what I booked and I had to go to the office to get the car I wanted. My name was not on the board that time either despite putting in my flight details.
Overall though I do like Hertz, the cars tend to be reasonably new and the gold system mostly works and is fast. No sneaky add-ons or upsells either.
