Is this a good price?
We are off to SF early August next year. We have been booking rooms and cancelling if we get a better price.
However, we now have a price for 2adults 2 teenagers £626 for 4 nights at the Coventry Motor Inn non refundable. Should I just go for this or take he £780 refundable price and keep checking up to nearer the time. Would really appreciate advice on if anyone has been in August and what you would recommend from your experience. Thanks in advance |

Thankyou, yes I have had a look but the reasonably priced ones seem to be quite a way out.

I think that's a good price. I booked 3 nights at the Travelodge by Wyndham San Fran Bay last August and this was £585 for 3 nights. I found accommodation very expensive and had to go for a lower quality than I would have preferred, so if you like the hotel I would go for it.
In retrospect I probably would have stayed outside of SF, I loved Sausalito 😃

I'd be very wary of booking something non-refundable months in advance, but I'm very cautious that way (almost all my hotels bookings are made on a refundable/flexible/changeable basis, unless it's very close to the travel date - like within a month or so! - or an incredibly good deal).
Generally, if it is a city - I've found that prices can and do fluctuate a lot over time and I've usually gotten a decent deal by rebooking as prices drop. This does involve checking on prices every now and again though! But the tricky thing with SF is that the prices are subject to huge fluctuations due to conventions and other events... So basically, if it was me - I'd go with refundable, so many months away... then keep checking and maybe change it to a non-refundable a bit closer to the date.
