I have no idea on these at all but I want to get one for my dh’s Big Birthday.

Is Apple the best place to get one or somewhere like John Lewis for the guarantee?

Also, is the 4 the latest model?

The problem is getting hold of them, assuming you want the Series 4 which, yes, is the latest version. They are in very short supply and get snapped up as soon as they appear in stores.

You can use this site: istocknow to monitor stock at shops, and my suggestion is to reserve for store pick-up as soon as you see the model you want in a local store.

If you had a series 3 already, you might bypass this upgrade, but if you're buying one for the first time, I think you really want to go for Series 4.

Depending on when his birthday is, you may still be able to have one delivered in time - select the model you want and see what the lead time is right now: apple/uk/shop/buy-watch/apple-watch

I was able to get one from currys online next day delivery last week! No issue with stock there but seem to be sold out everywhere else!

It may depend on what case/size/strap/cellular or not you wanted.

There does seem to be more availability at the Apple Store over the last few days - I picked up one for my daughter on Saturday.

Just to update I bought one of these last week from the Apple store, a series 4. There seems to be more available now? Although they were still out of stock in John Lewis.

I hope he likes it now! 🥴
