We love a game we play with playing cards and wrapped gifts. Get a selection of cheap novelty things to wrap up (tiger, primark etc are great for this) and try and wrap them in a way that doesn’t make the content obvious (eg put a Maltesers reindeer in a bubble wrap in a shoe box and wrap the shoe box). You need a few more gifts than players.
Deal out a stack of playing cards to those playing and then shuffle another deck of cards and turn over the second pack 1 by 1.
When your card comes up you choose a gift from the middle, once all gifts have gone from the middle if your card comes up you need to steal a gift from another player.
It’s great fun and hilarious to watch grown men fight over a big parcel containing a pack of novelty tissues.

I like the sound of this but how does it end?

Do players have only one card each, or do they have an entire pack between them?

Say for a group of 6 people, how many presents would you do?

Head bandz and speakout are our go to post dinner games. But marshmallow / spaghetti towers sounds good too.

You split the whole pack so players have multiple cards and presents keep getting stolen as the game progresses . Ends when the last card is drawn.
For 6 people I’d probably do 8-10 gifts

This is a great idea - think I'll try it on New Years Eve when there are 10 or 11 of us.

Last Christmas Eve I split everyone into teams. Gave each team a pack of spaghetti and a big bag of marshmallows. The challenge was to build the tallest tower - it got really competitive (The trick is to build triangles ) We also had a prize for the tower that held the most weight
Love that idea, might steal it. Yep I've done the chocolate game at school too!

My Mum always used to do a game where she wrapped up everyday objects, numbered them and then you guessed what they were. Person with most correct on the list won.

What about the flour in the pudding basin game? You have to try and get a piece of chocolate off the top of the moulded flour with your teeth
