Hotel Parking charges

Staying at GF in March and believe if we hire a car we will have to pay 25$ per night parking ( no charges when we went in April)

If that is right then we will not hire a car as we only use it for shopping.
I would imagine that the taxi fares will be less than car hire and parking.
Can anyone give me some ideas of taxi fares ie GF to the outlets and maybe Florida Mall etc. This will be our first time without car but in all honesty most of the time it sits in the car park.

uber/en-GB/fare-estimate/

This is the uber fare estimater, we used uber a few times from French Qtr last year and it was simple and cheap to use. $6-7 to Hollywood Studios. From our villa in Davenport to where old town is, it was approx $15-18 each way.

We had to pay over 200 dollars at the end of our stay in June at embassy suites on I drive for parking we do travel further afield quiet a bit so need a car ... but was thinking when we go next year we may not get a car as with hotel charges and park charges for parking and the hire car it's getting silly money so uber or taxi for us maybe hire a car for a couple days if wanting to go further away x

That's true if you book from a UK booking process, if you book from the US Disney site (to get free dining - when the UK isn't offering it - or different room avialbility) you will be charged parking

For most this won't be an issue but for some it might be useful to know

Do you definitely know whether this is actually the case?

Only, on the Disney website it only says, "Guests residing in the UK or Ireland will not be charged for overnight resort parking until 31st December 2019".

It doesn't say "Guests booking from the UK Disney site" or similar.

Very valid point, well done.

Overnight resort parking charges are applicable to Disney Resort Hotel Guests who book on or after 21st March 2018. However, Guests residing in the UK or Ireland will not be charged for overnight resort parking until 31st December 2019.

I would fight any charge tooth and nail not to pay.

I’m sure that it would be illegal in the UK to charge some drivers parking feesbased on where they live. Strange place the USA.

Even though it's not written this way, I suspect the fees are based on who you book with rather than where you live. If booked via a UK TA then - in effect - they pay for the parking fees on your behalf as part of the overall fee. Whereas if you book via a US TA then you have to pay the fees separately.

It's a bit like how if you book a hotel via, say, Virgin the price will include the resort fee whereas booking direct doesn't. Or how, depending on how you book a UK hotel, parking may or may not be included in the price.

it depends which website the statement is on. If the statement is on a specific uk site like you get taken to when booking direct , or just on a generic disney site. If on the generic then i would argue that it applies as they have used the resides in the term. I think they did this to stop the Non Uk market booking on UK web sites and getting the parking free.
But if in doubt email disney with your booking refrence and ask them if you will be charged.
