Bought alcohol in Walmart, Publix, restaurants and Disney and not asked for ID at any time (with or without children with me).

Only comment made once in Walmart was when my eldest daughter tried to help load the shopping bags into the trolley, she picked up a bag which had a bottle of wine in and the lady on the checkout told her off as it had alcohol in.

We had that a couple of days ago with my DD, you would have thought she had produced a gun or something the way the cashier reacted.

We had this happen to us in a gas station in upstate New York. British ID was unacceptable.

Americans are so uptight about alcohol and have a massive alcohol problem. The forbidden is always attractive!

I checked with my friend who works at CVS (in Florida) , they have the same policy according to her.
I have a theory that the authorisation software all the big stores was "upgraded" and there was a big screw up as it removed the option of manually checking less popular forms of ID.
