8am eastern, so depending on time of year usually 1pm UK time (it's 1pm now, there's a short period when clocks go back at different times when there's only 4 hours' time difference).

Really need to be on the ball. I have just finished booking 19 nights Oct/Nov 2019 boardwalk really wanted a standard 2 bedroom but every day at 1pm nothing available.
Managed a 1 bedroom for first 10 nights then a 2 bedroom for final 9 nights but has been a nightmare. Gone the days when you could pick these up with no issues.

Standard 2 bed Boardwalk may be the most difficult room to secure in DVC save for maybe AKL concierge. This is because you need the studio to be available as well as the 1 bed as they are all lock offs.
I actually had one this year, secured by waitlist at 7 months but that was summer, you are going the busiest time. Walking is more of a problem now it can be done online. I suspect it may become endemic as more cotton on. If you want the 2 bed immediately waitlist it, opting to replace the 1 bed automatically. There's a good chance it will come through if you do it immediately. Generally speaking 2 bed availability is not as bad as studios but nowhere near as good as 1 beds. I've already accepted that next Xmas when we go I won't be getting any 2 beds on 7 months but I'll be getting 1 beds hopefully in my desired resorts to stay that trip. I wanted to stay SSR for at least half but only if refurbed and I doubt it will be anywhere near finished with no guarantee of a refurb room, and so I'm looking at Wilderness Lodge and maybe Boardwalk Standard 1 beds again. Fortunately because DVC owners are value seekers, 7 month availability is quite good over Xmas in 1 beds due to high season points cost- unless Star Wars disrupts it. However, I suspect many DVC owners may stay away as they go back all the time and will wait for it to calm down. Edited at 08:44 AM. |
