Hi, just wonder if anyone has been to this event? Saw it on TV this year and really fancy going next year.

Looking at prices we may have to go for standard seats and will do a couple of nights in a hotel and try see some of Edinburgh.

Just looking to see if anyone has been and there thoughts on it.
Thanks

It’s amazing. The tv doesn’t do it justice

Edinburgh is mad crazy in August, it's an atmosphere you will not find anywhere else. Sadly the hotel prices reflect the madness. If you are looking at hotels it might be worth looking out along the tram line to Edinburgh Park.

Thanks any suggestions? Quite happy to get the tram in, I’ve never visited Edinburgh before so all new to me.

Book early if you decide to come. I am not sure when the tickets go on sale for the Tattoo but I know it sells out.

I echo what Scotty says about staying in a hotel further out the centre. The Airport 100 is great and very quick into the centre and there are a number of hotels along the route. I would avoid staying at an Airport hotel and getting the tram/bus in from there as the cost from the Airport is a lot more expensive (I live in Edinburgh).

We've been and took my parents, thoroughly enjoyed it. Make sure you wrap up if going to the later performance. We stayed one night in Edinburgh, in the city, prices were stupid but we wanted to stay at the same hotel we had when we first got together, the next night at the ibis budget at Edinburgh park, right next to the trams and across the road from morissons for breakfast the next day.

Hi did you find the ibis hotel ok?
I’d like to park car up then use trams into city centre.
Thanks

I replied to your PM but I am not sure it worked. Could you let me know if it hasn’t and I will try again.

Go, it is a joy to watch.
Edinburgh is a lovely place to visit and we found the people so friendly on both our visits
