We have just fitted a new kitchen and have a glass splash back and then upstands with painted walls. We didn’t want tiles this time and decided this was best and we can touch up paint if needed.

Thanks everyone for input - I think I will go for kitchen paint and a separate splashback behind the hob. That way it is easier to change my mind later on should we find it didnt work. ”Just” need to decide that hob splashback now - and the colour of paint

Which finish did you use for the paint? Gloss? Matt?

We always had tiles but couldn't find any we liked for new kitchen, especially with the upstands. We went for a splashback behind the hob and we used kitchen paint, 6-7 months on still really pleased with the choice, looks really good and paint easy to clean.

We bought Wickes kitchen paint, they had the colour I wanted, our painter and decorator complained when he saw where the paint was from but after using it he was impressed and said it was a good quality paint.

We have a glass splashback behind the hob with an artistic design on it. Looks lovely, easily changed if we get fed up with it and so easy to keep clean.
The rest is just painted the same colour as the rest of the kitchen.

Those who have paint - which finish have you chosen? Gloss or matt?

We used Dulux kitchen paint. It is Matt paint, but I would say it’s not a true Matt it does have a little sheen to it. Guess so you can wipe it easily.
