Booking a Universal hotel for the early entry & fast pass
Hi Dibbers,
Please could someone recommend which company is best to book a throwaway hotel night at Universal so we can get the early entry and fast pass options. We went in Aug this year and it was so busy, it almost put us off going again! Thanks! Clare |

I personally wouldnt throw it away. Go and enjoy it !
The best place to book it for me is the cheapest! There are often threads on the accommodation forum and people post where they are finding the better prices. If looking in August though, have a look at the universal seasons on thier website. If you can shift into shoulder season it will be less busy and less expensive. Remember only hard rock, royal Pacific and Portofino bay have free FOLP at moment. RPR is generally the cheapest but not always so worth checking others too. Edited at 01:29 PM. |

Meant to say we often add it to our flights and car and use it to get package protection. So an option if not already booked for next year. Plus get slightly better deal I have found. We do this with BA.

We booked using Tesco vouchers through hotels.com.
You can triple the voucher value at the moment , you still have to pay the tax value by card/cash. At the price they cost I’m staying let’s you get an earlier start on the second day.

We have used Travel Republic for our one night stay at Royal Pacific next December.
We have used them before and found the price to be quite competitive, they do however charge a cancellation fee (£25) if you do need to cancel your stay.

How much are people paying roughly? We'd be looking at 2 rooms for a family of 6 x

Booking .com we always use. Can cancel up to 3 hrs before check-in. Just in case. If you have the unlimited express there is no real need for early entry. That's just aimed at the other hotel guests without express.

as above will be an expensive "throw away" as an example club level for 2 nights last August 2017, was @£650 for one room
imo early entry is negated by the all day FOLP... |

We used booking.com last time we went. Had 3 adults and 2 kids in a suite (could have fit 6 if you don’t mind sharing beds) think it was £500ish for the night
