Mobile Someone reversed into my car, advise please

I was parked up outside of swimming yesterday waiting to pick my husband and youngest up. The engine & radio was turned off, closest car was around 50 yards in front and it's quite a steep hill. Weather was dreadful, grey, miserable and pouring down with rain. The reverse lights came on on the car in front so got my attention and I saw the car coming closer and closer with engine revving. I could see what was going to happen before it even happened! I was honking my horn like a crazy woman then bang!
It sounded very loud but then again my engine and radio was turned off.
The driver was only a young girl (or seemed very young to my 45 year old eyes lol) she was devastated and could not apologise enough, she had only passed her test a month ago. She was so sweet and so upset about it I felt so sorry for her.
We checked both cars the best we could in the pouring down rain and could not see any visible damage. I took her number and a picture of her reg.
my husband is concerned that the bumper could have absorbed any damage but left internal damage? So wand to get it checked out by a garage as it's only 9 months ish old.
I just hope there is nothing, the poor girl would be so upset.
Has this happened to anyone?
Could there be any unseen damage?

Someone went into the back of me and visibly there was very little damage. However 2 days later I went to open the boot and saw that the whole of the back had been pushed in about an inch. Couldn’t then close the boot. Luckily the lady admitted liability but it cost over 3.5K for the damage to be sorted.

Behind the bumpers are crumple zone components design to collapse and absorb the impact. These could have been collapsed as a once only item and need replacing.

Doesn't sound like there was enough to do any chassis damage or inner components, but best to get them checked as well.

I would lay odds if you get the bumper dry and in decent light you will spot some paintwork damage.
If there is I would want it resprayed.

Have it checked out and see where it goes.

I think she put her car in reverse by mistake, thinking it was in first gear then shot backwards. That would be the only reason I can think of.

Definitely think I am going to have to get it checked out. The car is on lease so we don't want to end up with a hefty fee at the end.
I just feel so sorry for the girl if there is unseen damage, bless her, she was gutted

Don't feel sorry for her for goodness sake it will be the best learning curve she can have and may, please God, make her more conscious of what she is doing in the future!
Your car could have been a child that she reversed into! Would you be feeling sorry for her if that were the case. Think of the consequence of that & by the way it should be reported to your insurance before you take it to see if there is any underlying problem!
