Once Upon a Family / April 2018 / Day 7 Hollywood Studios & Pool Day

Today was always going to be a bit of a strange day, because the twins were leaving us to go to their Mum’s for the next week. What we hadn’t at first anticipated, but was now happening, was that Dad’s new girlfriend, Shari, would be flying out to spend the week with him instead!

But first, we have a character breakfast to attend! So the alarm went off at 6.45am ready for our Cape May Café ADR at 7.30am. After the success of last night, the kids absolutely loved meeting the characters tableside again, and we were greeted by Daisy Duck instead of Chip & Dale (a recent change to the line-up – a shame for Molly and Chip & Dale are favourites of hers, but she did get to meet them later on in the trip!).

We love these umbrellas too, we had some wedding photos taken here which we love!

At 9am, Dad and Louise made their way by taxi to drop the twins off at their Mum’s hotel, whilst Matt and I headed off to Hollywood Studios for a couple of hours this morning. We made it for 9am but the line for Toy Story Mania was already huge so we decided not to bother and head to Rock n Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror instead, both of which were walk on’s.

This selfie never gets boring, I just loved staying here again!

What did I say about the face?!

Next stop, and one of our main reasons for visiting this morning, was to meet Sorcerer Mickey and Hollywood Minnie, who had less than a 5 minute wait.

…I got a Starbucks Strawberry & Acai Refresher Trenta sized (should have been $5.29, but used a snack credit) and a water for Matt ($3) before making our way back.

Just as had been the case this morning, we just missed the boat so had a 15-minute wait for the next one, but we were back at 10.30am, went straight to the room to get changed, and met everyone else back down at the pool.

We spent the day lazing around on a sun lounger and on the lazy river – bliss!

At 1.30pm, Louise and Dan did a Beaches & Cream run and grabbed a Frozen Sunshine for me and two scoops of strawberry ice cream for Matt (2 snack credits).

We went out to the room at 3.30pm, and were ready to leave for our evening at Magic Kingdom at 4.30pm (though we first had to stop and educate my delightful ex-stepmother on the need to plan Fastpasses and ADRs 6 months ago to avoid being the position she now found herself in – as we had been telling her for the past 6 months and were now being accused of being obstructive – grrrrrrrr).

Whilst getting ready, Molly took her gummy bears from the lounge out onto the balcony for a little reflection time….so cute!

We were on the bus at 5pm and went straight to the Barnstormer for Molly’s first rollercoaster ride (which she loved by the way, she’s such a thrillseeker!), before heading over for our dinner reservation at Crystal Palace.

We had a lovely meal here, and we gave our server, Jack, a Cast Compliment via Twitter. He was truly fantastic!

After dinner, the moment had come – Dad’s girlfriend had arrived and we were about to meet her for the first time! In fairness, she was lovely, and well up for getting on some rides despite her having been travelling all day!

So we went to ride Buzz with our Fastpasses, and then Splash Mountain – we wanted to start her off gently you see!

I won! It’s a miracle!

By now, it was time to stake out a spot for Happily Ever After. I don’t remember it ever being this busy for Wishes, it was crazy, but thankfully we found a spot and didn’t have too long before the spectacular began!

Sorry – photo overload!

Shari had fallen asleep on Dad’s shoulder so they made their way out a few minutes before the end of the show; and Dad, Louise, Molly, Matt and I were on the bus back by about 9.30pm. Whilst on the bus, I made a couple of tweaks to our plans for the rest of the week since Shari was now with us and not the twins.

We were in bed at 10.15pm…it was a shame as Matt and I would have liked to have stayed for a while longer but the park was so busy, it just didn’t seem worthwhile, so we enjoyed the early night!

The photo of Molly with her sweets on the balcony is so cute. Guest changeover day, losing 2 and gaining 1? It sounds like it went smoothly enough. I hope you managed to switch up the rest of your plans to include your dad's girlfriend.

How gorgeous does Daisy look!? The last time we were at Cape May breakfast Minnie kissed Donald but there won’t be any more of those hijinks haha.

Your dress is perfect for Crystal Palace, how cute does it look next to Piglet!?

It did, thankfully! Isn't she just the cutest?! Yes we were able to sort most things to include Shari, the only thing would be the obvious FOP FP!
