Sat 29th Sept: The Romper - Manchester

Ok, so where did we leave off?

After our drinks at the Little M bar, we went off in search of more reasonably priced offerings. We had actually gone to the Collage restaurant within the hotel for dinner and been seated. However on looking at the very limited menu, we left.

I have read about the Romper a few times on the Dibb, so we gave it a whirl. 5 mins max in an Uber from the Radisson at a cost of a little over £5 each way.

We got there at 6.30pm about on a Saturday night and there were plenty of free tables.

Drinks

A pink gin and lemonade for me, cider for him.

Mains

A - Signature Mixed Grill
28-day aged rump steak, chicken breast, 7oz gammon steak, pork sausage, black pudding, free-range fried egg, onion rings, grilled tomato and a choice of triple-cooked chips, jacket potato or dressed salad

And a side order of garlic bread.

He hoovered it up so it must have been good.

Me - Chicken Tikka Makhani Tiffin
With gobi saag, turmeric rice, garlic & coriander glazed naan, poppadom, spicy mango salsa and raita dip

Which peeled off in layers.

It was very tasty. Not the best curry I've ever had but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The naan & spicy mango salsa were particular highlights.

Dessert

Me - Gingerbread Brulee
Served with shortbread biscuits and raspberries

This was a nice creme brulee but I wouldn't say it had a particularly strong flavour of gingerbread. It was also a pretty small portion for £5.49 (although the biscuits were a nice extra). Oh & it was served cold and there is a chip in the teacup! I helped OH finish his dessert..

A - Salted Caramel Sundae
Beechdean chocolate and clotted cream ice cream, vanilla cheesecake, Belgian chocolate brownie chunks, freshly whipped double cream and salted caramel sauce

Absolutely delicious! What's not to like from the list of ingredients? The glass is very pretty too.

The Damage
