Lots of speculation re. CCV dues going down!
I won't even pretend to understand the details in the threads I've been reading, but it's all to do with the valuation of property taxes, the experts all seem pretty certain that owners will be receiving a discount!
Nothing official anywhere yet (other than the tax valuation) but certainly something to keep an eye on.

I would wait until something official! It could be the guides trying to sell more. But there is a good chance it will go down as Disney normally overestimate especially since Hawaii!

We only signed last week on our CCV add on & I asked why the points were so high, no mention from him of any possibility of them going down.

CCV dues already decreased this year (unusual) , so in some respect this is where it's come from. They decreased as assessed taxes were not as high as they'd thought.
Also Singh, the property tax assessor hiked property taxes massively at a lot of Disney properties this last year. This was challenged since CCV dues reduced, on Beach Club, and he lost. He claims to be appealing, but he's on a sticky wicket from what I've seen . The problem with Copper Creek is there's relatively few units (many points loaded on the bungalows) and they have offloaded a reasonable proportion of the shared facilities of Wilderness Lodge loaded onto it. DVD / Disney always wins. So the dues are very high as it was hit with a high tax assessment and running costs. Edit, just seen this. The tax assessment has been reduced massively (but this article suggests it is temporary) resulting in dues now lower than any other resort this year. This is obviously very good news for paying dues this year, but the article suggests it will be back over $7 a point next. dvcnews/index.php?option...d=32:financial Edited at 08:36 AM. |
