We had to pay for 2 extra cases coming home last year, we had to pay in USD which worked out more than the 65 GBP. I'd definitely look at booking before you go to avoid paying in USD.

That’s annoying as the lady I spoke to online said we could pay 65 gbp and they would convert it $. I got a copy of the online chat emailed to me so I have that in writing. Another thing I will be adding to our complaint with VA when I get back if Im not able to do this. Plus their website says you pay in gbp in that’s where your original flight was from ( that’s the way I was reading it, others might read it diffferently)

We will be doing online checkin later today so will find out about the extra case charges then. Will update you all later.

I asked about booking this before we left uk and was told you can’t prebook extra suitcases you can only do this online at checkin. This is annoying as it would be something I could of sorted at home before the trip.

How did you get on ? you are correct that you can’t book before you leave , you have to do it at olci which is why it’s in uds as it’s the website over there not here.

It is cheaper if you book online before you go but it is possible to book in an extra bag when you do free time check in it will cost you approx $20 more to do on the day.

Sorry I forgot to update you all. We did checkin at Disney springs last Saturday, we checked in one extra bag at a cost of $84 which was on our CC bill for £66. So the people at checkin worked out what £65 is = to in $’s.

If they tell you it’s $100 tell them you want to pay £65 as on VA site it depends on where you originally flew from that determines the charge. As we originally flew from UK we were charged equivalent of £65.

We didn’t even have to query the different charges the lady knew straightaway but I was ready to mention it if she asked for $100.

Hope this helps others who might be wondering .

I did this online yesterday as we’ve come home with an extra case. £65 paid. Or $83 dollars as it was written.
