Snow holiday - do we need Yaktrax?

Hi!

I’m off to Banff fin January with my husband, paeprents and brother. Hubby and I have done a few snow trips but it’s a first for everyone else.

I have a pair of Yaktrax after falling on my backside in the Main Street in Breckenridge about 3 times in a row - it was very cold and icy, and I’m very clumsy. Hubby has never needed them so far.

I haven’t been to Banff for a long time and they were in a chinook (warm spell) when we were there so it was very slushy. My parents aren’t skiing so will probably do some wandering around the town as well as some trips, plus we will be going out in the evenings for dinner.

Is it worth getting them some Yaktrax? Or is Banff generally pretty well cleared?

We have skiied in Banff twice - but at the end of March/beginning of April. Banff town was clear of any snow!

We went with my parents in 2006 it was very well cleared, no yaktrax needed just a reasonable pair of walking boots
