No schedule or deadline😲😲I don’t know if I can cope with that 😂
It might take me from this Christmas to the next but I’ll get one done, the quality, however, might be questionable 😂 I’ll be reading yours as a good example.

In the past I've tried to make sure I post once a week, but it inevitably becomes a chore and if I'm busy and can't post a day then I feel like I'm falling behind. Now I'm trying to remember trip report writing is for fun it's not a job to be done, so posting twice in one weekend or once a month are both fine.

Oh yes... cocktails are a huge bonus on the DDP. We indulged as often as possible and practiced each night on the little balcony at our OKW room (exactly the same as yours BTW). A bottle of duty free tequila and ready mix margarita from Publix suplimented the DDP cocktails. Our highlights were... Margarita in Mexico (EPCOT) Bloody Mary at Ohana's, Whisky Sours at Tepan Edo and the Turtle Crawl and Long Island Iced Tea at the Gurgling Suitcase bar at OKW. Looking forward to reading this food report. Thanks for sharing.

I'm liking your highlights list!
Unfortunately I have an aversion to the Bloody Mary which I discovered on my travel day to NYC last summer. Otherwise I totally agree with your list. The margs from Mexico were yummy. Can't say we've had a whiskey sour from TE but we do love them. The turtle crawl from gurgling suitcase was fab, by the way those 2 names are quite possibly my favourite name for a drink and my favourite name for a bar! I hope you enjoy reading about all the food we ate...

I'm glad you enjoyed reading it. As it's so hot out there having water iinstead for fizzy drinks is probably a good idea if you have little kids.

Just read all 47 pages straight through while sick in bed. A wonderful write up!
I asked my husband to estimate cocktails for 2 people over 16 days and he guessed 180. Did your count include wine and beer? He certainly doesn't drink 5+ drinks a day but some of my family would... He also thought the overall pacing of the Ohana meal sounded great, though we agree the drinks taking so long is unacceptable. We are typical Americans though, I hate waiting between courses. Was it also Ohana that you showed the bill with the drinks separated out? What was so weird is the 20% tip looked to be without the drinks. Or maybe I read it wrong... Overall it looked amazing. I'm going to go peak at your trippie, though I'm typically dining review only |

Hey there Jess, I'm sorry to read that you were sick in bed, but silver linings and all that...at least it gave you the time to read through this monster. I hope my random cocktail posts at the start of the thread weren't too annoying. I should insert a link to each of the main posts at the front in the intro post.
Your husbands guess did make me feel a bit better! 180 is something to aim for next summer though I'm going to take that as a challenge and every cocktail I drink will be for the cause! Our final tally didn't include wine or beer though...so you would have to add on a couple of glasses for that. I think it would be fairly easy to have 3 per day with 1 at lunch, 1 mod afternoon and 1 in the evening which would total 96 between 2 people across the 16 days so maybe we can get 180 next summer as we have a couple of hitch hikers joining us...my parents are coming too. I think the pace of a meal is a cultural thing as we do like a pause between courses, but then in other countries we've waited an age and started to worry they have forgotten about us...I guess it's that perfect sweet spot that is so hard for them to hit every time for every guest. I do think they could have taken the hint a little bit more quickly. The bill didn't seem to follow any kind of pattern in any of the restaurants some wanted to give us 2 bills if we'd ordered additional drinks to the 'free' ddp drink some just added this at the end of the bill. I honestly couldn't say which restaurant that was now. But I'd be surprised if the suggested 20% tip didn't include the value of the drinks as that does take the overall cost of the bill up a fair bit. I've only done 3 days of my full trip report and that will definitely be more of a marathon than a sprint so if you do end up reading it I hope you don't mind waiting a few weeks in between updates.
