Pre pay gratuities

Hi, I’ve just tried to ring Disney to prepay our gratuities for our upcoming cruise but was told we can’t as we are international guests. I hadn’t heard of this before but the cast member just said to pay once we get on board. Is this correct and is it easy to do on departure day?

Just pay extra to your on board account and don't call it 'pre paying gratuities'.
It's the same thing anyway.

If you can't do it online/over the phone, just pop to Guest Services any time throughout the cruise and pop some money on your account.

Simples!

We always book through Disney cruise line and have always prepaid our gratuities. We either add it to our initial booking or have added it at a later date but have never had a problem with prepaying.

I think as others have said its the wording. If you phone and ask to add credit to your onboard account then this works. Technically this is what you are doing and you are just using it to pay for gratuities

Ah ok, thank you. I’ll give it another try at the weekend.
