Thanks for the tips everyone. We're staying at the Midtown in June having booked a decent deal with Virgin. Looking forward to visiting the new Trillium Brewery location - Fort Point, which has Restaurant and Tap Room. :-)
As we're both also into our decent grub (not fine dining :-)) can anyone recommend any places to eat please? Already got Thorntons on the radar for Breakfast as it is close to the hotel, and of course the Market :-)

Upstairs at Ned Devine's in Quincey Market is a bit of a hidden gem, we were there on Wednesday its not 'fine' dining but nice dining.
I had the shrimp and broccoli linguine at it was huge with massive juicy Gulf shrimps I had a to go box as I could'nt eat it all. DH had steak tips and mushrooms with fries and that was also huge. They serve a decent pint of Guinness there as well. |

We stayed in at the Loews Hotel, Backbay. Loved Flour for breakfast. We went whale watching, did the Freedom Trail, took a trip to Salem (was Halloween week) and visited the House of the Seven Gables. My kids and husband insisted on Cheesecake Factory two nights out of three.

Just back. Thursday night and all day Friday was insanely cold. Stayed at Seaport Hotel and walked in to town every day. Used the hop on to get bearings and just walked everywhere. Best part ? Drinking Downeast Cider in the afternoons at the many friendly Irish pubs!

We only had a night but loved it (at the Intercontinental).
Main thing we did was the Duck Tour which was brilliant and gave us a good overall look at the city. We ate at the Cheesecake Factory (of course )
