BA777 To TPA aircraft change (again)

FYI

We fly the route in July and for the 4th time the type of aircraft being used on that day has changed.

It has gone from the older version to the refurb version and will no doubt change again.

It has mucked us about with our seating arrangements and this may have affected others. Worth keeping an eye on if you have pre-booked seats.

Thanks for the heads up. We're same route, different date and had 3 changes so far, no doubt due to the 777-200 fleet refurb schedule which seems to have drifted.

The 3rd change bumped friends out of their pre-paid/pre-selected seats and no notification provided. Absurdly, BA allocated new seats to them which split the family into different seating sections and this could not be amended manually online without incurring new selection fees.

When they contacted BA the airline still demanded extra fees to correct *their* sloppy seat allocation error, (some of the party were allocated economy in the front half of the cabin and others were farther back, therefore a price difference).

It took quite the rant and a lot of escalation to get a satisfactory solution.

We are doing this route too in august. Will keep an eye. I haven't reserve seats yet. Not sure I will pay yet. A bit undecided.

This will happen with a gradual change of aircraft in the fleet.
They can’t just stick with one actual aircraft as the amount of routes they service, maintenance and weather delays will effect which aircraft will be used.
